Reel in Adventure: Gulf Shores Fishing Charters

Get ready to cast a line and make some memories on the stunning Gulf Coast of Alabama! Our 3-hour intermediate charter is your ticket to experiencing the best fishing Fort Morgan has to offere. We fish the waters from Orange Beach, Gulf Shores all the way back here to Fort Morgan. Whether you’re looking to battle redfish in the backwaters or chase king mackerel in our nearshore waters, this trip has you covered. Our local captains know these waters well and are ready to get you on the fish. Grab your hat and sunscreen—it’s time to see why Alabama’s coast is one of the best-kept secrets in saltwater fishing.

What to Expect on the Water

This isn’t your average boat ride. Our 3-hour trip gives you a solid taste of Fort Morgan fishing without taking up your whole day. We’ll head out from Fort Morgan and enjoy some great views along the way. Depending on the bite, we might stay inshore for redfish and speckled trout or head out a bit for Spanish mackerel and maybe even a kingfish. Captain Patrick and Mike know how to find the fish and make every minute count. If you’re new to saltwater fishing, no problem—we’ll walk you through it and have you fishing with confidence in no time.

Techniques & Tackle Talk

On this trip, we'll likely use a mix of light tackle and bottom fishing techniques. For inshore species, we might do some sight casting with artificial lures or live bait under a popping cork - there's nothing quite like watching a big red crush your bait on the surface! If we head nearshore, we could switch to trolling or jigging for mackerel. We provide all the gear you'll need, from rods and reels to bait and tackle. Just remember to bring a valid Alabama fishing license, and you're good to go. Oh, and don't forget your camera - you'll want proof when you're telling stories about the one that didn't get away!

Why Anglers Keep Coming Back

"Good Times!" - Roy "Fantastic day today on the water!! Not the amount of keepers we would have liked but man were we on the fish this morning!!! Thanks Captain Patrick!!" - Matthew "Awesome experience! Looking forward to doing it again." - Phillip

Species You'll Want to Catch

Redfish: A favorite around Gulf Shores, and it’s easy to see why. These copper-colored fighters put up a serious battle, especially on light tackle. You’ll find them hanging near oyster beds, grass flats, and other structure year-round. In the fall, big schools of bull reds move in, giving you a shot at a true trophy. Hooking into one of these is an experience you won’t forget anytime soon.

King Mackerel: When it comes to speed demons of the Gulf, king mackerel are hard to beat. These sleek predators can hit speeds of up to 60 mph when chasing bait, making for some seriously exciting fishing. We typically target kings from late spring through fall when they move closer to shore. Watching a king skyrocket on a bait is a sight to behold, and their smoking runs will test both your gear and your skills. Plus, they make for some mighty fine eating if you're looking to bring home dinner.

Spanish Mackerel: The smaller cousins of king mackerel, Spanish are no less fun to catch. These fast-moving fish travel in schools, so when you find them, the action can be non-stop. Spanish mackerel are most abundant in Gulf Shores from spring through fall. They're a blast on light tackle, and their acrobatic jumps add an extra thrill to the fight. Tasty on the grill or in fish tacos, Spanish mackerel are a favorite for both sport and table fare.
